Ąnis
Ąnis is a producer and DJ from Lithuania, who moves fluidly between club-focused tracks and experimental explorations of sound. His work resists being confined to one style, drifting from driving, hypnotic beats to ambient textures, 2-step, breakbeats, and sound design–heavy pieces. Ąnis approaches releasing music carefully, with patience, valuing the process of creation over the pressure to publish. For him, music is less about chasing trends and more about shaping a personal sonic language. His inspiration often comes from raw emotion and everyday experience, resulting in tracks that feel intimate, yet wide-ranging in sound. Though his musical path began with classical, instrument-based practice, his focus today lies in the studio, sculpting interesting sounds and letting experimentation guide him into new territories of electronic music.
Ąnis joins Gars Records with his debut “I Swear I’m Not Delusional” album, which is a reflection of a personal journey. Written over the course of several months, it captures the shifting balance between doubt and clarity, heaviness and light. At its core, it expresses the fear of holding onto one’s truth when others may see it as a lie or a misconception — hence the title, Delusion. Alongside those moments of tension, there are also glimpses of joy, friendship, and relief, which contribute to a sense of self-uncertainty.
The record draws on traces of everyday life: the restless energy of urban nights, the meditative calm of rain, and the warmth of memories with a close group of friends — embodied most clearly in the track Mountain People. Each piece is tied together by a meticulous focus on sound design: dissonant pads, hypnotic patterns, hope-evoking basslines, and richly layered textures.
Rather than offering a straightforward narrative, ISIND moves fluidly between moods, inviting listeners into its shifting states of mind. It is music meant to be experienced deeply, whether in a darkened club space or through solitary listening.
